ABOUT ME

I am an experienced psychodynamic and addictions counsellor with private practices in Frome and Warminster, offering adult and adolescent counselling, both in-person and on-line. I also offer supervision for safeguarding and pastoral care staff in schools. I have been in practice for 15 years and have experience in working with many different issues, including stress and anxiety, depression, substance misuse and addiction, eating disorders, abuse (physical, sexual and emotional), family relationship difficulties, and other personal and emotional difficulties.

Friends and family can be a great source of support but it’s not always easy to confide in the people closest to you. Sometimes talking to someone who is not personally involved can make a difference. I offer a safe and confidential space in which to explore the difficulties you may be facing. Because being able to put your struggles into words can bring relief and a renewed sense of resilience.

In my adult work I offer weekly, 50-minute sessions. Our work can be open-ended or short-term and focussed, depending on what you feel is the best fit for you. In my adolescent work I offer weekly 50-minute sessions together with periodic parent and family meetings. Each young person’s circumstances are different, so we will take time to think about how best to structure the individual and family sessions.

ABOUT PSYCHODYNAMIC THERAPY

Psychodynamic therapy is a talking therapy that seeks to help you gain a better understanding of what you are going through so that you can make the changes you need to feel better and more resilient. Often the problems you face in the present have their roots in the past and so thinking back and making links can be part of the work.
